Joining the Fire District 21 team:

Whether you are interested in a proven career development opportunity in the fire service, or you simply would like to give back to the community, we have many programs tailored to those who wish to pursue volunteering or working part-time.

Some of the programs that we have available include:

  • Community Volunteer Firefighter/EMT Program for at-home responders.
  • Community Volunteer EMS-Only Program for at-home responders.
  • Lateral Firefighter/EMT Shift Program

Stop by the fire station for more information and to pick up an application or Download here FD21 Employment Packet[1]

We also have the opportunity for Students, and others, to participate in a “Ride Along” on the engine or a medic unit.  Please download and fill out our “Ride Along Waiver” form.

Here is a recruitment video filmed with our volunteers at Station 49 and has been aired on TV throughout Washington State:

Two more great videos that shows what it’s like to be a volunteer firefighter and illustrates the need for volunteer firefighters in Washington State.
