Snohomish County Fire District No. 21 is seeking highly motivated and dedicated Paramedic Firefighters to join our family! Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to speak English
  • US Citizen: Must be able to legally work in the U.S.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license
  • Washington State or National Registry Paramedic certification (or ability to obtain reciprocity)
  • CPAT within last 12 months
  • Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat Ops & Awareness certificates

Lateral Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Firefighter Paramedic
  • Proven experience in emergency medical response and fire suppression

Position Requirements:

  • Valid National Registry of Emergency Technician – Paramedic (EMT – Paramedic) certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must Successfully pass a Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) test
    • Successful CPAT test results within twelve (12) months

District Overview:

Snohomish County Fire Protection District 21 is an all hazards Fire Department providing fire protection, emergency medical services, and rescue services to a large area surrounding the City of Arlington. The District covers 70-square miles, making us one of the largest fire districts in Snohomish County. Fire District 21 includes the communities of Tafton, Arlington Heights, Jim Creek, Lake Riley, Cicero, Jordan River Trails, Edgecomb, Sisco Heights, and northern sections of the Jordan Road, Burn Road and McElroy Road. The population residing within Fire District 21 is about 9,600 people.

The District is governed by three Fire Commissioners and is managed by Fire Chief Chad Schmidt. We also will have a Day Time Battalion, 4 Paramedics and 10 full time Firefighters/EMTs. The District is also supported by 29 Part Paid firefighter EMT’s and 8 Volunteers.
